About this spot

The city of Yeosu sits on the coast on a peninsula, surrounded by 317 islands midway along the southern coast of South Korea. Many of the smaller islands are being serviced by ferries. Yeosu and surrounding municipalities are perched along steep mountainous terrain and a (typically) very complex coastline. The sea is generally shallow, so during low tide wide mudflats are exposed.

Summers are relatively cool and winters mild due to the oceanic climate.

Most beaches in the area are lined with restaurants and facilities for guests and tourists. The black, volcanic sands of Manseongri Beach near Yeosu are rather popular with korean tourists.
