The PKRA Kite World Tour is heading to their next stop in Portimao / Portugal during the Kite Masters event which starts today, June 24th and runs until June 28th. The flat and warm waters of Alvor Beach will welcome both the best freestyle kiters in an invitational event. Last year's winners Kevin Langeree (Netherlands) and Susi Mai (Germany - also see the interview we did with her some weeks ago) will have a hard battle against the other riders in the unique group-based competition format.

In addition to that, there will also be a course race competition, where last year's winner Charles Delau (France) will give everything to defend his title. We also expect a hard competition there.

Wind forecast for Portimao looks promising for the first few days of the competition with winds up to 16 knots from northwesterly directions. You may also keep an eye on the Superforecast maps for Portugal Algarve to check the general conditions on Portugal's south coast. There are also some webcams in the Portimao area listed in our webcam directory to give you a look at the conditions if you have to stay at home.
