On day 3 of the SEAT Kitesurf World Cup 2009 the wind blew with up to 20 20 knots, enough to hold the double elimination in the freestyle discipline. The winnners of the single elimination Mario Rodwald (SKBUe/Germany) and Gisela Pulido (Spain) had to face strong competition as everyone was eager to climb up the elimination ladder.

The competition area was moved nearer to the beach, which enabled the riders to kick off the waves and perform their tricks close to the shore, giving the spectators an exciting show. Vincent Tiger (France), who only 2 months ago sustained a severe injury to his face during competition, was in excellent form. He moved through the rounds defeating Antoine Auriol and Mito Monteiro (Cape Verde), but losing out to Peter Tyushkevich (Russia) for a spot on the podium.

In the men's final Mario Rodwald (SKBUe) was once again up against Stefan Permien (SKBUe/Germany), in a well-contested heat. Rodwald performed a front and low mobe followed by a crisp "board off" which proved too much for Permien and taking the SEAT Freestyle 2009 title. Sebastian Bubmann (SKBUe) completed the great German result with a 7th rank. In the women's freestyle Gisela Pulido faced Kristin Boese (Germany) in the women's final, pulling out a great slim chance, front mobe and attempting a rare back mobe!

This evening at 20h there will be a beach party at the Brandenburger Strand in Westerland, featuring a live band "Make My Day".
