On the first day of the Kitesurf Worldcup in Sankt. Peter-Ording/Germany, where the world's best kitesurfers meet from August 23th untill August 24t, the event site seemed to be draining in the rain but then the rain stopped and the wind picked up in the afternoon just in time for the men's trial elimination in the Freestyle discipline. The following riders qualified for the main event: Joe Ciustula (Spain), Jan Erichsen (Germany), Florian Daubos (France), Silvester Ruckdäschel (Germany), Christophe Tack(Belgium), Stefano Maselli (Italy), Bas Koole (Netherlands), Johnno Scholte, S (Netherlands) Steve Vereist (Belgium), Tijn van Esch (Netherlands), Mathias Wichmann (Germany), Michael Meel (Belgium), Rick Jensen (SK Bayer Uerdingen), Jan Schiegnitz (Germany), Tobias Hoelter (Germany), Julian Hosp (Austria). In the evening the sun suddenly showed up and provided the right mood for the beach party.

This morning the wind was blowing at around 15 Knots from West but gradully decreased. The race manager Olaf van Tol still managed to do one course race which was won by course racing novice Sebastian Bubman (SKBUe/Germany) on an 19m² Flysurfer Speed ahead of Ron Reimers (Germany), Sean Farley from Mexico and Armin Harich (SKBUe/Germany).

The wind forecast and the SuperForecast for Skt. Peter Ording for the next 3 days look pretty promising so stay tuned for kiteboarding action.
