OUR CENTERS
Jericoacoara is one of the best places for wind in all the world. This is due to the strong trade winds that come all the way from the Africa. While most of Ceará's coastline runs SE to NW, Jeri's coast runs E W, parallel to the equator and in exact line with the trade winds which have no natural obstacles so arrive at full force. WIND DIRECTION + SPOT CONDITIONS Wind direction - constant side off shore. Waves differ in size depending on tide, swell and time of year. During high tide is when you have the biggest waves ranging in size from waist to shoulder to head high.
PREA
The average windspeed reaches 20-35 knots from June through January! We recommend sails 3,7 to 4,7meters. Wind: In summer time July-Dec, the wind is very strong but also very consistant. It blows every day! In the winter time February -June the wind is light and it blows on an average of three days a week. The wind is side on shore from the right with minimal current year round. Waves: Waves are affected by the wind swell and moon phase. Full moon genarally brings the best swell. The biggest waves reach 2 metres. Low tide brings the flattest water conditions. Special: Guided downwinders ! this is not a trip for total beginners. The downwinders are absolutely spectacular because there are miles and miles of wide open empty beaches... you can play in the waves or simply ride downwind for about 12 km.
INSTRUCTORS
Teaching with the latest techniques in instructions. A team of professionals instructors teach windsurf easily and safely according every sailor. We teach since the very beginning to the last freestyle tricks. Our instructors most of them born in Jeri are highly trained to teach windsurfing You can attend classes in english, italian, spanish or portuguese
LESSONS (incluing equipment)
beginner: the first step into the new sport, practice and theory, know the equipment, start and control of the board, tack, intermediate: refresh the first steps, fast tack, jibe, beach start, introduction harness. advanced: you can choice the lesson, water start, planning position,, speed, power jibe.... etc.
